Lore
The small dragon was frightened as she flew away from where she had lived before, her element blowing with her, as if it too wanted her to leave. Her name was Maron and she didn’t want to stay in her clan any longer. She couldn’t pinpoint exactly what it was, but she had awoke that morning with an uneasy feeling in her stomach and she knew she had to leave.
Perhaps she was to set out to find a mate? She wondered. Maybe she was destined to join a fighting party. She didn’t know.
When at last she tiredly landed and began to breath again, a Tundra dragon ambled over to her and nosed her gently.
“Hey, whatcha doin’?” He asked.
“Sleeping.” She mumbled, covering her eyes with her wings.
“No you’re not.” He told her.
“Why not?”
“Because I said so.”
“Are you always so bossy?” She asked, peaking from under her wings.
“Sure, but it gets things done.”
“Well try to be nicer about it, I’m sleepy.”
“Wouldn’t you rather sleep somewhere where there’s shelter?”
She looked at his eyes, “Sleep near a plague dragon?”
He gave her a disgusted look, “I’m not going to make you sick, you know. That’s just a rumor. Would it kill you to be nicer?”
She sighed wearily and stood. “What’s your name?”
“Heartsong. And you are?”
“Maron.”
“That’s neat, now come here, there’s shelter in here.”
She stumbled to the shelter he led her to and collapsed, falling asleep before he even had time to ask her another question.
As time wore on, she became friends with Heartsong…and eventually his mate.
She laid three of his eggs and hatched out three male Tundras, whom they raised to the best of their ability.
But something had decreed that Maron must suffer. A mirror male, named Destroyer, had come in from another clan and had taken great interest in her. He was unaware she had a mate, and when he found out, he didn’t care.
He pursued her further than she had ever been pursued before…and she did not like it. She begged him to back off, but to no avail. She was hesitant to tell Heartsong, because though she had no interest in the mirror male, she was afraid Heartsong might become angry and take things a bit far.
Destroyer had had enough though. He wanted Maron and refused to take no for an answer…the next two eggs she laid were his.
Tears filled Maron’s eyes as she explained to Heartsong what had happened. Just as she had feared, he became angry, swearing to make Destroyer pay for what he had done. But DarkFire interfered, telling Heartsong that she wasn’t going to allow a murder or a murderer in her clan and that she would deal with Destroyer herself and that he would never bother them again.
Maron was frightened to raise Destroyer's hatchlings, so sent them away, doing her best to find them good homes.
