Lore
As a young dragon, Crurry took nothing seriously. He mated freely, with any female dragon who wanted him, with no commitments, he was happy. Or so it seemed.
Granted, he was enjoying himself doing what he was doing, living the way he was living...but he had a hidden desire to settle down someday. But why was the desire hidden? Because, even more deeply hidden was a fear.
A fear of betrayal, a fear of pain. He'd never been hurt in that way before, but who can explain the mind?
He was searching for a purpose in a world that seemed to have no purpose.
In desperation, he took to a life of crime. He was a clan hopper, hopping from clan to clan, sometimes stealing food when he left, but never staying long enough to make friends.
He had joined a new clan, with intentions to leave in less than a week. He had discovered that each clan had their own way of ruling and keeping order. This clan was a monarchy. The king and queen were named Glory and Honor, and they had many children, but only one who had stayed home. A tiny blue fae named Webbers. He thought she was snooty and petty. In reality, she was shy. Besides, he knew he could never talk to her anyway. Faes and coatls lack in the area of communication.
He awoke one night, to sounds of shouting and rioting, so laid perfectly still so as not to be noticed, as herds of dragons scrambled past him toward the sounds. When at last it was silent and the screams were in the distance, Crurry snuck from his sleeping place to watch.
They were auctioning off the king! They were selling him! Ahh, but what did Crurry care? He was leaving soon anyway.
And oh, the queen! A strong guardian had her in his jaws, while another pointed a sword at her throat. It was a takeover of massive proportions.
But where was Webbers? Where was the little snoot? He searched for her in all of the crevices until he spotted her. She looked so tiny, so scared. His heart was moved with a compassion he didn't know he had.
He knew what he had to do. With a sigh, he went to little fae and grabbed her, hoping that she wouldn't scream, and alert the enemies. To his relief, she just...well...passed out.
He carried her away, to a hidden place, to make his own lair with her and when she came to, he was shocked to find that they understood each other. And for once, he had no thoughts of being anything to her, other than a friend.
She talked to him about her fears and the nightmares that wouldn't go away. She cried to him. She was broken in front of him. And he fell in love with her. Oh, Webbers...she was his beautiful, beautiful fae friend. He longed to be her mate. He felt it with every bone and sinew in his body. But it was not to be. He didn't need to ask her to be his mate to know that. She was too frightened to ever become anyone's mate. She was perfectly fine being alone in that respect. And he wasn't going to force anything.
Eventually, they joined a clan consisting of a female mirror named DarkFire, and a male guardian Webbers had met, named Dusk. It was just the four of them...until a dragon named Sunn joined. He knew she was the one for him.
They became mates, laid an egg, and the rest is history.
