Dave
the snapper hadn’t had the easiest of lives. Parents constantly yelling, other
dragons picking on him for reasons he hadn’t the clue. They wore on him. They
changed him and molded him. Into a jerk.
As an older dragon, Dave was easily persuaded to waste his fire and energy on trivial fights and arguments. He had little self control and blew up faster than a stick of lit dynamite.
Dragons young and old dreaded fighting in the Coliseum with him. They dreaded speaking with him. They just dreaded being around him. This lead to more abuse and bullying, which only continued the cycle.
And then he met a female. She was a spiral named Katie. Easily entertained and quick to care for others, Katie and Dave quickly became friends. They talked a lot and did a lot of things together. She didn’t seem to fear him or bully him, and that made him happy.
They grew closer, and the lines became extremely blurred. Katie wanted to clear up the lines, and become mates, but Dave was hesitant, and for a time, cut off communication with her.
That hurt her and after awhile, he decided he would go back to her, although he had yet to agree to become her mate.
It took him quite some time to actually agree to become her mate, but eventually he did.
They enjoyed the warmth of each other and Dave soon began seeing her flaws…and also desiring a nest. He grew more and more controlling, demanding the nest that she was not prepared for.
He could tell that she was frightened, but didn’t really care. He’d gone too far to really care. He wanted a nest and he would do anything to get that nest. He also wanted to keep her to himself.
He felt threatened when a new dragon, a guardian named Jacob, appeared in their clan. Katie immediately began talking to him and they really hit it off. That did not make him happy in the least. He watched them carefully and when alone growled at Katie for constantly flirting. She always told him that she wasn’t flirting, but he wouldn’t believe her.
Finally, Katie had done enough and angered Dave even more. She constantly said no to a nest, she didn’t even snuggle as close at night and wouldn’t tell him why. And she was always, always flirting with that stupid guardian.
He snapped.
He attacked her, snapping at her with his powerful jaws, berating her physically and emotionally. Who did she think she was, flirting with another dragon? Denying him the nest he deserved? She deserved it.
Then, like a rock wall, a giant dragon wedged itself between them. It was a very angry, displeased Jacob. They fought together, and though Jacob sustained some wounds, Dave left with more.
Dave crawled off as another dragon took and cared for his mate. Who would no longer be his mate. He was positive that all they were doing was talking crap on him. All they were doing was making fun of him behind his back. And for what? He had done nothing wrong! He deserved that nest! He deserved for his mate to be his and his alone!
He sulked around the lair, when a wonderful idea occurred to him. He would work in the Coliseum until he was at a high level, then he would run away to the Flamecaller. The Flamecaller would school him in fighting, he would become strong and bold…then he would return to his clan and destroy Katie and the mate stealing ******* Jacob.
With a new plan, Dave had his purpose…a dirty, terrible purpose…but a purpose.
Now, he watches Katie and Jacob from afar, plotting his way to hurt them in the best (worst) way possible. Steal their eggs? Harm their young? He would find a way. He would have his vengeance..
